Fall Apple Picking 2019

Family gathering for apple picking

On Saturday, October 5, Hands & Voices of New York had their annual apple picking event at Indian Ladder Farms in Voorheesville. Families of children with hearing loss (over 60 people in total) gathered to pick apples, eat donuts, drink apple cider, and most importantly, playing in the sandbox or feeding the farm animals. The parents had opportunities to ask/answer each other questions as well as sharing experiences and suggestions. Children were able to see (and relate to) their peers wearing hearing aids, cochlear implants and Pontos, which is similar to their own devices. The weather was gorgeous! A great time was had by all!

HOW COULD YOU HELP?

Donation is greatly appreciated to support our mission for the deaf and hard of hearing children and families in New York.
