Fall Apple Picking 2023 (Highland, NY)

Last weekend (November 4, 2023) about 14 families met for apple picking at Dubois Farm in Highland, NY. Several families were new to Hands and Voices and are looking forward to more events! We enjoyed a tractor ride, picking apples, visiting the animals, and playing in the “Tiny Town”. Of course we had to try the cider donuts and apple cider! 2 deaf adults were in attendance as well as a local teacher for the deaf. A certified interpreter was in attendance and announcements were interpreted in ASL. Families’ communication choices varied, but all were welcomed!
